The Grand Canyon Celebration of Art attracts renowned artists from across the United States for a week of painting and public demonstrations.

Last year about 30 artists took part in the celebration’s varied event offerings.

Proceeds from the event are dedicated to funding an art venue on the South Rim to preserve and showcase a collection of historic and contemporary paintings owned by Grand Canyon National Park and the Grand Canyon Association (GCA).

Money from paintings sold during the event is split 50/50 between the artist and GCA.

The highlight of the event is the Quick Draw and auction held at the culmination of the week of painting. After painting for two hours, the artists frame their newly created works and set them out for display. Spectators can then take their time deciding which pieces to bid on at the live auction that begins at noon. More information is available at
